Emergency 200 Amp Service Upgrade After Tornado-Like Storm – 2024

In 2024, a tornado-like storm with violent winds swept through the area, causing widespread damage. At Steve property, the storm knocked down trees, tore down power lines, and ripped the existing 100-amp overhead electrical service right off the house.

Our team at Owens Electric responded immediately — in the middle of the storm and pouring rain. We pulled permits on the spot and upgraded the damaged electrical system to a brand-new 200-amp main service panel that same day.

To ensure long-term safety and protection, we also built a custom wood enclosure with a secure door around the new 200-amp panel, shielding it from weather and future damage.

Once the upgrade was complete, we scheduled and passed the county green tag inspection, and PG&E arrived shortly after to re-energize the property. Power was restored safely and quickly during a chaotic time — all thanks to our responsive and experienced crew.
